Food & Wine's Editorial Guidelines Published on June 19, 2024 Photo: Food & Wine / Amazon For quite a while now, I’ve been dealing with very dull knives. Cutting up ingredients for my salads, prepping my favorite dinners, and preparing the special food I make for my parrot (which consists of over twelve different kinds of veggies cut into small pieces), has become a tedious and precarious chore that I always do with trepidation. That was until I got the opportunity to try this Imarku 16-piece knife set. This knife set appeared on my doorstep from the brand for testing back in early February, and it has sat prominently on my counter ever since. That’s because these knives are the sharpest I’ve ever owned. They’ve single-handedly shown me how much more efficient and effortless it is to prepare ingredients when you have a good knife in your hand. And right now, tis set is marked down by 37% at Amazon. Imarku 16-Piece Knife Block Set Amazon Orig. $190 $120 at Amazon This Imarku knife block set has every type of knife I’ll ever need. I’ve used the chef’s knife for making crisp, fresh salads, the steak knives for cutting steak and pork chops at dinner, and the paring knife to peel apples and potatoes. And, take it from me, these knives are razor-sharp, slicing effortlessly and cleanly no matter what I use them for, whether doing the paper test, slicing tomatoes, cutting steak and other proteins, butternut squash, and more. The knives are made of high carbon steel that according to the brand are rust, corrosion, and discoloration resistant, and they still look brand new after I’ve used them these past few months. Each knife is full tang, made from one piece of stainless steel, with a hollow handle, making them lightweight, but offering precise balance. The handle has a beautiful diamond-shaped design which I find very easy and comfortable to hold, even when I’m preparing a large meal for a party with several guests. I love that the handle is sleek, just like the blade, making the whole set a chic addition to my countertop. Food & Wine / Sharon Lockley This 16-piece knife set covers any cutting or slicing everyday task you can think of, too. It has an 8-inch chef’s knife, an 8-inch bread knife, an 8-inch slicing knife, a 7-inch santoku knife, a 6-inch boning knife, a 5-inch utility knife, a 3.5-inch paring knife, and a set of six serrated steak knives. It also includes an 8-inch knife sharpener to help me keep the knives sharp, and a pair of kitchen shears to cut through bones, produce, and more. The block measures 6.5 by 8.3 by 9 inches and doesn’t take up a lot of room on my counter, either. I love the dark brown wood and that there are slots that hold three steak knives on each side, keeping them within reach but out of the way. While the knives are dishwasher safe, I’m hand washing them, as I want them to stay in tip-top shape for as long as possible. It’s easy to do with just a quick swipe with soap and water. Each knife that’s been used gets dried thoroughly before I put it away in its designated spot in the block too. With this knife set around, it’s seemingly effortless to be in my kitchen making meals for my family, my friends, and my pets. They’re sharp and there’s a knife for everything I’d need.
